Paco Martin Dominguez

Francisco A. Martín Domínguez

Paco

Francisco A. Martín Domínguez, was born in Madrid, Spain. He trained in Forest Sciences, and achieved a Master’s Degree in Renewable Energy. Paco teaches Mathematics and Physics, and has had a lifelong passion of drawing and painting.
Basically self-trained in the techniques of graphite and color pencil, he took classes with the painter Sarita Muñiz who taught him how to paint with pastels, a technique which immediately seduced Paco. He has utilized pastels in his own work and the reproduction of numerous still lifes from masters of El Prado and other contemporary artists.

Paco has continued taking courses in the paste technique from renowned artists such as Enrique Donoso. He is a member of ASPAS, Spanish Pastel Painters Association since October 2010. He has participated in solo and group exhibitions of colored pencil and pastel since 1998.

He dedicated this last year to colored pencils, which was the technique that introduced him to the painting world, and which let him communicate the strongest emotions as it becomes the direct language of the artist. His meticulous work based on careful observation of the world around us and experimentation with forms, volumes and textures as well as a thorough study of the composition and color allowed him to recreate the harmonious beauty of small objects of everyday life which he elevated to an art form.

He considers himself an eternal apprentice seeking purification of lines, developing his work in any of these three techniques, little known and not always justly valued, but of great beauty and color intensity.
