I came from a small town in western Pennsylvania, and have been interested in all forms of arts and crafts since childhood. This love continued as I started college and majored in Art Education.

A few years later I married, started a family and filled my home with all kinds of home made objects and lots of supplies. My husband encouraged me to do something with my talent (and stuff) and in 1975 I opened a Fine Arts and Crafts store in that same little country town.

Thanks to Priscilla Hauser, Bonnie Seaman, Sue Schewee and many more, that adventure soon led me into the world of Decorative Painting. I quickly started classes in my store and in out reach programs in the three surrounding counties. My most popular class was titled…”Anyone Can Paint”.

Although during the first year the classes were taught in oils, we soon expanded our art classes to include acrylic, watercolor, air brushing, and pastels . These classes also included guest artists from across the country. A few years later my husband joined my teaching team and he was soon known for his Stain Glass classes and supplies.

In the next nearly 20 years, I took many classes from many wonderful teachers, wrote a book on Acrylic Landscapes, and taught an average of 100 Art students a week.

In 1993, we decided to close our Store and Class Rooms and move to Florida to help my parents age gracefully. I became a Co-ordinator of over 100 volunteers in a Rehabilitation/Nursing Home Facility. During that time, rehab facilities were putting in Spa areas for their residents to enjoy. I became known Nationally .for the many murals that I painted in those areas.

I then retired from that profession in 2008, and continued to do Spa murals, and murals in private homes both interior and exterior. At that time I was able to search out and join the Decorative Artist and Art groups in the area and form many new friendships.

I now have the great joy of experimenting with many mediums in my Florida studio while my husband of 51 years enjoys showing off his culinary skills daily in our home kitchen. I still share my love of painting by teaching at the local chapters and art groups and with my Studio students two days a week.
